The iPhone will be available in a total of 49 countries shortly but still Apple has not agreed a contract with many operators to hand over iPhone related revenue to Apple. Apple has managed to negotiate early deals with many countries who obtained exclusive sales rights in return but Russia and China are still not on the list, the company seems slow to set up contracts with half of these countries.
Many iPhones have been shipped in illegally and have been unlocked. Some analysts believe that Apple is missing out on revenue. Talks are still ongoing between China Mobile, the leading mobile operator in China and Apple.
