According to Deutsche Telekom Chief Executive Rene Obermann, the T-Mobile division has sold more than 100,000 iPhones since the launch in November of 2007. Obermann stated that the iPhone was currently the “most popular multimedia device” and that sales were more than “meeting expectations”. T-Mobile in Germany was the first iPhone carrier to cut prices on the device, down to just 99 euros with a contract. This cut was implemented in April 2008 and has been deemed a very popular scheme. Although boasting the sales quotas, Obermann made no comment on the possibility of a 3G iPhone in the future.
