16GB iPhone in short supply? Not in the UK…

It would appear that Apple’s new high capacity iPhone, the 16 GB may be selling out in many countries. While the device is not yet available in Germany, Austria or France, it seems to have limited quantities in those countries where it is available. The UK market however, seems not to be affected by the shortage. US customers are enduring a five to seven day wait for the 16GB iPhone to ship. Those customers in Germany, Austria and France may not be waiting long. A T-Mobile spokesperson stated recently that the device is expected to ship to those countries within the next four weeks.

It has not yet been determined if the shortage is due to increased demand or simply a need on Apple’s part to step up manufacturing efforts.
